With a reliably high yield, (Phaseolus vulgaris) The Prince is a half-hardy annual variety of French dwarf bean, bearing white flowers and a heavy crop of 15cm (6in) long, flat, straight beans. Ideal for growing in a container, the beans are best enjoyed young, while they are string-less.

Planting
  • Well drained soil
  • East, South or West aspect
  • Sunny location
  • Sheltered or exposed
Care
  • Plant seeds in well-watered and finely prepared soil where they will crop.  Plant at 45cm (1ft 6in) intervals, in rows approximately 5cm (2in) deep.
  • Consider companion planting with Nasturtiums to keep aphids away.
  • Seedlings will appear in 2-3 weeks, water well until plants are established.
  • Minimal support required- use netting if required.
  • Pick regularly while beans are young and tender
  • Pods/ beans are harmful to humans and pets if eaten raw
