Features

notes
Clematis Pink Champagne (Kakio) bears a mass of bright pink large flowers, each measuring 15-20cm across, with a lavender central bar and yellow anthers. The exact shade of petal colour varies according to the growing conditions, and flowers are followed by ornamental seedheads for extended interest. This is one of the earliest varieties of large flowering clematis to flower.
Insights

Compact and easy to grow, Clematis Pink Champagne is the perfect clematis for a container or smaller garden, as it has a narrow expanse but is a strong climber. It also attracts butterflies and other pollinators.

Care
  • Clematis like full sun or partial shade and moist, but well-drained soil with their roots in the shade. For this, plant the crown 5-8cm (2-3in) beneath the soil, ideally shaded by other plants.
  • Alternatively layer stones on the surface of the soil, which protects the roots from the sun and from drying out.
  • Deadhead blooms after first wave of flowering
  • Group 2 for pruning
  • Can be a skin irritant and harmful to pets if ingested
