Features

notes
A small, deciduous tree, Laburnum wateri Vossii is notable for its beautiful yellow garlands of pea-like flowers that hang from the branches in spring, illustrating why it is also known as the Golden Chain Tree. These flowers last for several weeks, are lightly scented and attract bees and other pollinators. Flowers are followed by bean-like pods, held against foliage that is pinnate and light green.
Insights

Laburnum wateri Vossii is a hardy specimen, tolerant of cold, exposure and chalky soils, performing best in full sun. It can be pruned into an arch shape – there is fine example of a Laburnum Walk at Hampton Court Palace. Laburnum wateri Vossii is a recipient of RHS AGM (Award of Garden Merit), for all round excellence.
