notes

Low growing, Teucrium Binstead Gold is wonderfully adept at providing colourful ground cover, with its lime green foliage that fades to yellowy green. Clump forming, it bears spikes of simple yellow flowers in spring which are highly attractive to native pollinators.

Insights

Also known as Wood sage or Germander, the light, crinkly edged leaves are similar to sage, and the plant is reliable, tolerant of heat and rocky soils and easy to grow. Believed to be named after the first King of Troy, King Teucer, who lived between 1400 and 1000 BC, the plant is native to the Western Mediterranean.
