notes
Emerging from a handsome clump of foliage, the prolific flowers of Helenium Sahins Early Flowerer provides a welcome injection of colour as summer progresses. Each daisy-like flower head unfurls to reveal a sunburst of bold orange coloured petals, set off against a deep brown centre (a late source of nectar) that stands proud of the flower as it matures.
Insights

It is said that Heleniums are named after Helen of Troy; if so, they valiantly uphold her reputation for beauty. As the flower heads are held erect on shorter, unbending stems, it makes them excellent for late summer arrangements. It is a recipient of the RHS AGM (Award of Garden Merit), for all round excellence in the garden.
