Insights
Situated near the small town of Bourg-sur-Gironde, the first Côtes de Bourg vineyards were founded by the Romans in the second century AD. The rich and diverse soils are galvanised by the breeze of the Atlantic Ocean, accentuating the expression of the terroir. Côtes de Bourg’s red wines are garnet in colour and are predominantly produced using the merlot grape.
