notes

Common Green Sage is an aromatic evergreen shrub with dark green, veined leaves. Come summer, the strap-like foliage will produce tubular two-lipped flowers with short purple spikes, making it a welcome addition to the ornamental border. The flowers also have the benefit of being attractive to bees.

Insights

Historically used as a healing plant by both the Greeks and the Romans, Green Sage is now an invaluable ingredient within the kitchen. Its dominating flavour is great in stuffings, sausages and with any meat dish.
