A classic ‘frustrum’ shape - a cone with the topmost section removed - Empire Shades are considered one of the more versatile lamp shade shapes. Drawing from her love of antique textiles and botanical forms, Merchant creates hand-drawn, uplifting designs with a decorative aesthetic that pays homage to the British arts and crafts movement, in turn embracing the ethos and techniques behind these traditions whilst adding a contemporary twist.
