Our light-filled glasshouse Café, located at the heart of the store, is open all day every day for delicious home-cooked food with a modern twist. Our chefs and bakers make everything from scratch in our kitchens, 7 days a week, so it is always as fresh as it can be. Service is relaxed and informal, and there is no need to book.

Our Café is a lovely place to meet and enjoy freshly cooked seasonal food with friends.

There are plants galore, ornate mirrors and eclectic artwork to keep you company too, and even a special 'Quiet Cinema' area where we show some of our favourite classic films (usually French). On warmer days, you can take advantage of our two outdoor terraces, and relax under our giant parasols. We have good old-fashioned printed newspapers for you to read. Sometimes the old ways are the best ways...

Nigel and Louise, our Founder and Creative Director respectively, lead the steer when it comes to the food, working with our talented chefs to showcase delicious seasonal fayre. Our menus change regularly, so we can always capture the best of the local seasonal produce available to us, alongside the day's pickings from our kitchen and herb gardens. We have a love for vibrant, rustic food, beautifully cooked and with an honesty and simplicity that brings out the natural flavours present in high-quality ingredients.

The atmosphere in our Café is friendly and relaxed. Children and their well-behaved parents are of course welcome, and we are happy to provide main lunches in child-sized portions. We do not allow dogs, so sorry.

We do not take bookings, so you can come as you please and we will have you seated as soon as we can. There may be a short wait at peak times.

We cater for a wide range of dietary requirements, including gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan. If you have any specific allergies or any queries, please tell us on arrival or ring ahead on 01993 823117 and a member of our team will do their very best to help.

Please note, we will soon be closing our takeaway coffee shop 'The Shed' for the winter. The last weekend of service will be the 23rd & 24th December, until we re-open in the springtime.
