Introduced at the Chelsea Flower Show in 2017, the beautiful new English shrub rose from David Austin, Rosa Vanessa Bell (Auseasel), has soft lemon-yellow, free-flowering blooms with deep, rich yellow eyes. Opening from rounded, pink-tinged buds, the deep, medium-sized cups are held in large, open clusters. The flowers have a medium, green tea fragrance with aspects of lemon and honey.

Blooming almost continuously throughout the summer months, as well as being a repeat flowerer, this English Musk Hybrid is reliable and also has good disease resistance. A compact, bushy, upright shrub, R. Vanessa Bell is a great addition to both formal and informal planting schemes; it also makes a wonderful hedge.

Named after the artist, designer and founder member of the Bloomsbury Group, Vanessa Bell, the sister of the writer, Virginia Woolf.

Pot Size: 6L

Height and Spread: 120cm x 75cm over 5 years

Preferred Soil Type: Any free-draining soil

Aspect: Any

Position: Open sunny position / Very light shade

Flowering Period: June – September

Please note, in the autumn this rose is supplied as a potted plant, and will not produce any new roots until spring so it is usual for the soil to fall away from the roots when you remove it from the pot. It is best to plant it immediately.
