Handmade using both traditional methods and all-natural ingredients, Ortigia’s Limoncello cake sees soft dolce soaked in Sicilian Limoncello. Produced and packaged for Ortigia by artisans at Pasticceria Giulio, near Messina, the design for the tin is taken from tiles on the world-famous staircase of Santa Maria del Monte in Caltagirone, Sicily.

Insights
The name Ortigia comes from the small island that lies at the edge of the ancient, fortified city of Siracusa, on Sicily’s southeastern coast. All Ortigia products are made by small family companies who pride themselves on the quality of their produce. The highly decorative packaging is designed by founder Sue Townsend and draws heavily on exotic Sicilian imagery and its wonderful colour schemes.
