Native to the rainforests of Latin America, Syngoniums reduce airborne microbes and indoor air pollution, including volatile organic compounds such as benzene and formaldehyde. The pollutants are absorbed by the leaves, and the toxins end up in the roots to feed the plant, which is an extraordinary concept.
