Features

notes

Hardy and deciduous, Cephalanthus Magical Moonlight grows into a lovely and restrained bushy shrub with eye-catching flowers in late summer. The perfectly spherical flowers comprise tiny, tubular florets with long stamens that give the pom pom flowers an almost fluffy appearance. Smelling sweetly of nectar, the flowers also attract butterflies and native pollinators.

Insights

This is a compact form of the Buttonbush, called Magical Moonlight because of the moonlike appearance of the flowers. It is native to areas of North America and Canada where it grows near sources of water where wild fowl eat the seeds.
