Deciduous shrubs, paniculata hydrangeas are natives of China and Japan and are very hardy. They like to have cool roots, so do well behind a wall, and Hydrangea Silver Dollar thrives in dappled shade and can light up a dull corner. It looks great in a pot, but keep it well watered, especially in terracotta. A recipient of the RHS Award of Garden Merit for all round excellence in the garden.
