Rosa Princess Alexandra of Kent (Ausmerchant), from David Austin, is a gorgeous English Shrub Rose with unusually large, bright pink flowers which are full-petalled and deeply cupped. The ring of soft pink outer petals, enclosing the warm pink inner, creates a delightful effect.

Please note, our roses are available to purchase all year round, so depending on the time of year your rose may either arrive in bloom or have been pruned or deadheaded appropriately for the season.

Blooming almost continuously throughout the summer months, this Old Rose Hybrid is reliable and has excellent disease resistance. Named after Princess Alexandra of Kent, a cousin to Queen Elizabeth II and a keen gardener.

  • English shrub rose grown for flowers and scent
  • Flowering period: repeat, from late spring to first frost
  • Fully hardy
  • Classic plant for mixed border or container
  • Enriched, well-drained soil
  • All aspects
  • Full sun or partial sunlight

Dig a hole larger than the root ball and loosen surrounding soil, sprinkle with Mycorrhizal Fungi to promote root growth, position rose, infill and water well. Deadhead spent blooms to promote new buds. Please see our Rose pruning guide.

Pleasantly and strongly fragrant, with a fresh tea aroma which changes to lemon as the flower ages, eventually taking on additional hints of blackcurrant.
