Geum Nonna provides lovely ground cover at the front of the border with a clump of elegantly cut leaves. In the summer, rising above the attractive deciduous foliage, are a mass of brown/purple buds that open into a vibrant show of semi-double flowers with brilliant golden yellow petals washed round the margins with deep orange, surrounding beautiful eyes.

‘Nonna’ is grandmother in Italian, a word which conjures up a notion of warmth, giving and ideally homemade pasta! This Geum makes a perfect present to offer a grandmother, but setting all sentimentality aside, it is a hardy perennial that provides an astounding and life enhancing blaze of colour in the border.

Flowers from May - August

  • Well drained fertile soil
  • South, east, west facing
  • Full sun, partial shade

The colour of the flowers will be more vibrant if planted in full sun. Dead head to encourage more flowering. Avoid waterlogged roots and protect from severe frost.
