Features

notes

As an attractive, slow growing holly bearing unusual dark blue green foliage, Ilex × meserveae Blue Angel makes a wonderful addition to the garden. With the addition of a male holly to cross pollinate, it will carry a profusion of red berries in winter. Leaves are spiny and can be clipped into a hedge or bush.

Insights

In late spring, inconspicuous white flowers attract bees and other pollinators, with birds much appreciative of the berries during the colder months. Holly plants are either male and female and both sexes are required to produce berries, which form only on the female plant in late autumn/early winter.
