notes
Otherwise known as the White or Colorado Fir, Abies con Violacea is a stunning specimen tree, growing to approximately 12 metres high. One of the bluest firs with long, soft needles, it bears yellow, catkin like make flowers and small yellow-brown female flowers in spring followed by grey-blue, upward facing cones that mature to brown.
Insights

This evergreen conifer is shade tolerant, but growth will be slower in dense shade. Ideal as a specimen tree or for use as a screen, allow room around it when planting. It is a recipient of the RHS AGM (Award of Garden Merit), for all round excellence.
