With arrow shaped leaves resembling the tip of a dragon's tail, hence its name, this eye-catching alocasia is a rare green houseplant from the aroid family. This sprawling plant, with its wavy foliage on long petioles, is guaranteed to bring an exotic charm to your interior.
In nature, the Alocasia ‘Dragon Tail’ grows as a terrestrial plant in the hot and humid forests of Southeast Asia, and so does not require high light conditions.
Alocasia thrives well in high humidity and bright, indirect sunlight. Allow the top 3cm of soil to dry between watering; over-watering, wet leaves, and soggy soil makes the Alocasia susceptible to a variety of serious fungal infections. Place on a saucer filled with pebbles to replicate the humid rainforest environment, and use an organic fast draining soil.
