notes
With dark purple - almost black, ruffled foliage Heuchera Dark Secret brings drama and texture to the border. Ideal as ground cover or planted as a foil against vivid, lime-coloured Hostas and Ferns, it bears delicate white flowers on slender stems in summer. These flowers emerge from pink buds and add a pretty lacy detail to cut flower arrangements; left in situ they draw native pollinators to the garden.
Insights

Heuchera is native to North America, where it is given the common name ‘alumroot’. It is named after an 18th-century professor at Wittenberg University, Joahann Heinrich von Heucher.
