Keep soil moist during germination and early growth. When seedlings appear, thin gradually so that final spacing between plants is roughly 5–7 cm (2–3″) apart — this gives roots space to develop without crowding. Avoid transplanting carrots, as they do not take well to root disturbance. Harvest roots once they reach the desired size between mid‑summer and autumn.
