- Sow: April – June
- Harvest: July – September
- Soil: Moist, fertile, well-drained
- Aspect: Full sun
- Indoors: Sow in pots or trays 2 cm deep at 22°C. Harden off once first rough leaves appear and plant out in late May, 60 cm apart.
- Outdoors: From early June, sow direct 2 cm deep in stations of two or three seeds, spaced 60 cm apart. Thin to strongest seedling.
Water well, especially during fruiting. Regular picking encourages continued cropping. Feed fortnightly with a liquid fertiliser once plants are established.
