This unusual lavender produces fragrant pale pink flowers and grey-green foliage. It is particularly lovely for using as a low hedge along paths and borders, perfuming the air as you walk past. Easy to grow – use in a gravel garden, or clip into a low hedge or, for a contemporary look, a formal sphere.

Increasingly in its role as a herb, lavender is being used in recipes, not just for puddings, biscuits and fudge, but also for use with pork recipes.
