Features

notes
Physocarpus Rubella adds dramatic impact to the garden with its dark red brown foliage, which bears little pink flushed white flowers in summer. These flowers transform into glossy red seed heads in autumn, providing prolonged interest and a food source for birds. Its common name is ninebark, due to the peeling of thin layers of its bark once mature.
Insights

A member of the rose family, this plant is a popular, fast growing, landscaping shrub and can be planted in a mixed herbaceous border where its moody colour will work particularly well against lime green coloured plants.
