Features

notes
Prunus tomentosa, or Nanking cherry, is a striking, deciduous shrub, upright in habit, that produces delicately fragranced, pinky-white flowers in spring, which are followed by red, edible, tart fruit. The bright green foliage also puts on a show, turning orange in autumn, before falling.
Insights

Native to China, Japan and the Himalayas, this variety tolerates wind and is winter hardy. Much loved by wildlife, this beautiful specimen is wonderful as part of a mass planting and because of its density, also makes a good hedge or windbreak.

Plant more than one for cross pollination.
