Insights
Adopting plants as her primary inspiration for their luscious colours and natural forms, Cawson takes pleasure in contrasting these with geometric patterns found in fabrics, as well as incorporating vessels in her compositions. Using watercolour in both a controlled yet playful manner, Cawson creates a lively take on still lifes.
Artist
Trained in printed textile design, Cawson first worked as a freelance printed carpet designer for the European and US markets, before becoming a professional painter in 2005. Since then, she has exhibited nationwide, whilst teaching workshops in the art of watercolour.
