Features

notes

The beautiful Veronica Tissington White is a mat-forming, compact perennial which throws up striking, candle-like spires of white flowers, veined and lightly flushed with pale lilac, which are super-abundant and attractive to butterflies. It likes a sunny spot at the front of the border or in a container.

Insights

According to legend, Saint Veronica used her handkerchief to soothe Christ’s brow and the markings left behind resemble the flower spires, hence the name. This variety was found in a garden in Tissington, Derbyshire.
