notes

Believed to be one of the easiest houseplants to grow, Zamioculcas zamiifolia, or ZZ as its often referred to, is a native of eastern Africa and as such, has adapted to arid conditions, storing water in its glossy upright leaves. This means that it is a low maintenance plant for the home - it isn’t fussy about humidity, can tolerate low light (although prefers medium to bright indirect light) and will forgive you if you forget to water it. Featured pot cover not included.

Insights

Discovered in the Netherlands in 2003, the Lucky variety bears slightly rounded tips to its leaves and is more compact than other ZZ varieties.

Planting
  • Soil: Well-draining potting compost
  • Position: Bright, indirect light (sun will scorch leaves) but will tolerate low light
Care
  • Please note, the pot cover featured is not included
  • Allow soil to dry out before watering- water every 2-3 weeks. Wrinkled leaves are a sign of dehydration
  • A brighter spot will encourage new growth
  • Purifies air
  • Toxic if ingested by animals
