notes

Boasting creamy yellow flowers, with a tiny row of extra petals around its heart, held on sturdy stems above leathery green foliage, the new variety Helleborus orientalis ViV 'Lucrezia' makes an attractive addition to the winter garden. The clump forming, evergreen perennial thrives in sheltered, woodland settings, offering great visual appeal when planted in groups, lighting up a shady area with its gentle hue. It is notable for its long flowering period and is often known as the Lenten rose.

INSIGHTS

Hellebores are a particularly pleasing addition to the garden as they are one of the only winter flowering plants, providing much needed colour on a gloomy day. They also offer a valuable source of nectar to foraging insects, especially bees, when little else is in flower.
