notes

Named in honour of Sir Winston Churchill, The Winston is the first sparkling cyder to be bottled as an imperial pint, Churchill’s preferred size of champagne. Meticulously crafted using the same traditional method as the finest sparkling wines, it is fermented in the bottle for around two years, allowing it to develop its uniquely complex character.

Insights

Nestled in the heart of Somerset, an area steeped in cyder-making traditions, The Newt source their apples from their own 65-acres ‘cyder orchard’. Blessed with the perfect climate for growing apple trees, their orchard is home to 3,000 trees boasting 70 different apple varieties. Once picked, the apples are pressed and cold fermented in The Newt’s cathedral-like Cyder Cellar; racked gently from their sediment over a six-month period to develop their refined complexity.
