notes

The striking flowers of Kniphofia 'Orange Vanilla Popsicle’ fade to creamy white, topped with a blast of orange, forming an excellent cut flower for a bold and punchy display. Forming a neat mound of slender sword-shaped foliage, it produces large flower heads on strong, upright stems. This compact variety is well suited to containers and is highly attractive to native pollinators.

Insights

Hard to pronounce Kniphofia (‘nif-of-e-a’), is one of the first flowers many children recognise, but by its common name - Red Hot Poker. A distant relation of the giant plant named after the late eighteenth-century German botanist Johan Kniphof, this variety evokes the heat and drama of its native South Africa.
