Features

notes

Enchantingly, Abeliophyllum distichum produces its pretty, long-petalled flowers with bright yellow eyes in very early spring. With delicate, deep burgundy stalks, the blooms burst directly from the plant’s slender stems and bring with them a delightful fragrance.

Insights

Although a member of the olive family, Abeliophyllum distichum is extremely hardy, its bushy habit reaching up to 2.5m after a decade or so, with attractively dark foliage. It can be trained against walls or trellising and once established, provides superbly scented stems for flower arrangements.
