Camassia Leichtlinii Caerulea is a stately perennial which bears elegant spires of starry blue flowers above strap-like green leaves. Flowering in late spring, they are perfect for adding floral interest into a cottage garden border before the bulk of the summer perennials take over. These bulbous perennials are long-lived and tolerant, tending to naturalise.

Camassia Caerulea is a native of the fertile meadow lands of North America and can form large clumps. Ideal for growing in grass, where bulbs can be left undisturbed to multiply. Flowering in late spring, it is superb for cut flower arrangements.

  • Deciduous perennial
  • Semi hardy
  • Flowering period: May - June
  • Low maintenance
  • Any moist, well-drained soil
  • South, West or East Facing
  • Full sun or partial shade
  • Sheltered

After flowering, leave undisturbed to naturalise. Intolerant of waterlogging and may need some protection from frosts in colder areas.
