Commonly known as Bluebeard, Caryopteris Hint of Gold is tolerant of drought and thankfully is not appealing to deer or rabbits, however, it will not thrive in wet, poorly drained soil. Very low maintenance, it is a recipient of the RHS AGM (Award of Garden Merit), for all round excellence.
- Flowers: August- October
- Well drained soil
- South or West aspect
- Full sun
- Prune hard in March to promote new growth that will bear flowers later in season
- In very cold areas, plant near a warm, sunny wall for protection
