Britain’s first luxury chocolatier, Charbonnel et Walker was established in 1875. Encouraged by King Edward VII, then the Prince of Wales, Parisian chocolatier Madame Charbonnel was introduced to a Mrs Walker from London. Together Mrs Walker, who was known for crafting the finest jewellery boxes, hat boxes, and Madame Charbonnel created Charbonnel et Walker; offering beautiful chocolates presented in beautiful boxes. In 1970, the company was awarded the Royal Warrant to Queen Elizabeth II.
Mix four heaped teaspoons with an equal amount of boiling water and stir until the chocolate has dissolved completely into a creamy paste. Add hot milk to taste and whisk vigorously to form a good froth. Top with whipped cream and more Charbonnel flakes for an indulgent treat.
