Clematis Ice Blue Evipo003 is an early flowering climber smothered in large white flowers, flushed with pale blue and reaching 15-20cm in diameter (6-8inches). It is a repeat flowerer, with slighter smaller, paler flowers in late summer/early autumn. Flowering from a low height on the previous season’s growth, it is ideal for container planting.

Clematis need their roots to be cool and their heads in the sun, so plant with roots shaded by other plants.  Plant Clematis ‘Ice Blue’ with evergreen shrubs or with grey or purple foliaged shrubs for great contrast or use to lighten a north facing wall or fence.

Flowers: May – June, August - September

  • Moist, well drained soil
  • Full sun or partial shade
  • East, South, West-facing aspects
  • Fully hardy
  • Group 2 pruning
  • As Clematis like cool roots, try to position so that the roots will be shaded from the sun by another plant.
  • Bear in mind the space they will need to climb and provide a suitable structure - trellis, wall, fence or other plant - to climb through
  • Can be a skin irritant and harmful to pets if ingested
