notes
This Cupressus arizonica ‘Fastigiata’ lends a striking, architectural presence to a garden. Its elegant, pyramidal form creates an eye-catching focal point, adding height to a border or as statement planting in a large container. Its striking blue/grey, cord-like foliage, being evergreen, creates an attractive foil for perennials. Planted in a row they form a lovely hedge.
Insights

As its name suggests, Blue Arizona Cyrus is native to the southwest of North America - Arizona especially. The name ‘Fastigiata’ refers to the fact that the branches grow parallel to the main trunk. First introduced to Britain in the 1890s, it was extremely popular and remains so, due perhaps to its calm acceptance of our climate.

Details

Producing spherical pine cones in spring, this evergreen tolerates drought once established. It does not, however, thrive in wet, poorly drained soil.
