Also known as Sanicula epipactis, Hacquetia epipactis is a charming yet understated plant commonly found in alpine gardens and woodland settings. Despite its small stature, it makes a striking impression with its compact clusters of delicate yellow flowers, nestled within rosettes of yellow-green bracts.
Blooming early in the year, it brings much-needed colour to the garden when little else is in flower, while also attracting bees and other pollinators. Once the flowering period ends, its dark green foliage forms neat clumps that provide an attractive backdrop for emerging spring bulbs. It is a recipient of RHS AGM (Award of Garden Merit), for all round excellence.
