Pippa’s Purple is clump forming with leathery foliage. Semi evergreen, it may lose some or all of its leaves if planted in an exposed area. Sometimes referred to as a Christmas rose due to its flowering season, it is, in fact, related to the buttercup.

- Leave foliage to protect the young buds, but as the hellebore flowers, remove the old foliage to reveal the blooms, this looks attractive and helps to prevent disease. After the first year, top dress with fertiliser in autumn.
