Iris Sable commands in the herbaceous border with its blueish green spear-shaped leaves and gently ruffled blooms of velvety purple petals. The flowerheads also have the advantage of attracting native pollinators.

Insights
Irises are a traditional garden favourite, being both good looking and reliable performers. This variety looks gorgeous planted en masse in a sunny, well drained border or as part of a cottage garden scheme. They also make excellent cut flowers.

Care
