Burford Café

Last Updated 12th July 2021

Our Main Café is open for inside and outside seated service and our Planters Café is open for covered outdoor seating service.

No bookings required, please just pop in and we will serve and seat you as soon as we can.

We do ask that all visitors continue to wear face coverings in all indoor public areas, whilst the numebr of cases of Coronavirus across the country remains high.

All of our food is prepared every day by our team of chefs, in our own kitchens and using local produce and local ingredients wherever possible. We are open for breakfast, lunches and afternoon teas, with a regularly changing, seasonal menu. Many of dishes are suitable for vegetarians and vegans, please ask on arrival. If you have a food allergy or intolerance please speak to any member of our team and we will advise on what may be suitable for you. Please note that we do work with nuts and gluten in our kitchens.

No bookings are required in any of our cafés, and we offer the same friendly drop-in service in each. At lunch times and at peak periods there may be a short wait before we can seat and serve you, and we have a safe, socially distanced queuing area for each café.

Please note, in line with Government guidelines, we continue to ask every visitor over the age of 16 to sign in via the NHS Track and Trace app before entering our Main Café or Planters Café. If you prefer, or if you have left your phone in the car, we can take your details manually for you.

The above may be subject to change at short notice, if Government advice is changed or further restrictions are introduced.

Please also see our Covid Update for the latest information on additional safety and welfare measures we have implemented.

Our Cafés

Our rather gorgeous Main Café has become a bit of a fixture in the accolades at the annual Oxfordshire Restaurant Awards, and we are very proud of it. Set in one of our stunning, light-filled glasshouses, the vibrant, welcoming space is very much at the heart of the Burford experience.

We are about delicious, rustic food with a modern twist, cooked well and with a simplicity that brings out all the natural flavours in seasonal ingredients.

Using only hand-selected, local produce, meats and dairy products, our team of chefs and bakers prepare and cook everything from scratch every day, seven days a week, in our own in-house kitchens.

..

We celebrate the seasons in our menus and our team takes great pride in crafting delicious dishes from the harvest from our own kitchen gardens wherever possible. Our lamb is from our own flock too, grazed in our own fields to the very highest welfare standards.

Where we cannot grow our own, our ingredients come exclusively from local artisan producers and suppliers – be it our whole milk sourced from Cotteswold Dairy or the finest Cotswold beef from the award-winning Todenham Manor Farm.

..

The atmosphere in our café is relaxed, friendly and informal. There is free Wi-Fi. We do not take bookings, so you can come and go as you please – and even if you only have time for a quick coffee, you will always be guaranteed the same warm welcome.

Every day, our creative kitchen team ensure we cover a wide range of dietary requirements, including gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan. Children are most welcome, and we are able to provide main lunches in children's portions too.

Outside of the lockdown period both our Cafés are open 7 days a week:
