Burford Café

Last Updated 21st March 2022

Our Main Café is open for inside and outside seated service. Our Planters Café has now reopened for outdoor service.

No booking is required, please just pop in and we will serve and seat you as soon as we can.

Following the latest Government guidance (28th January 2022), face masks are optional while in store.

All our food is prepared every day by our team of chefs, in our own kitchens and using local produce and local ingredients wherever possible. We are open for breakfast, lunches and afternoon teas, with a regularly changing, seasonal menu. Many of the dishes are suitable for vegetarian and vegan diets, please ask on arrival. If you have a food allergy or intolerance, please speak to any member of our team and we will advise on what may be suitable for you. Please note that we do work with nuts and gluten in our kitchens.

Join us for our brand new Breakfast Menu, filled with fresh and local produce, homemade here in our Café.

No bookings are required for our Cafés, and we offer the same friendly drop-in service in both. At lunchtimes and at peak periods there may be a short wait before we can seat and serve you.

Our Cafés

Our rather gorgeous Main Café has become a bit of a fixture in the accolades at the annual Oxfordshire Restaurant Awards, and we are very proud of it. Set in one of our stunning, light-filled glasshouses, the vibrant, welcoming space is very much at the heart of the Burford experience.

We are about delicious, rustic food with a modern, international twist, cooked well and with a simplicity that brings out all the natural flavours in seasonal ingredients.

Using only hand-selected, local produce, poultry and dairy products, our team of chefs and bakers prepares and cooks everything from scratch every day, seven days a week, in our own in-house kitchens.

..

We celebrate the seasons in our menus and our team takes great pride in crafting delicious dishes including produce harvested from our own kitchen gardens wherever possible. Where we cannot grow our own, our ingredients come exclusively from local artisan producers and suppliers – be it our milk sourced from Cotteswold Dairy or the finest free-range poultry from the award-winning Adlington Farm.

The atmosphere in our Café is relaxed, friendly and informal. We do not take bookings, so you can come and go as you please, and even if you only have time for a quick coffee, you will always be guaranteed the same warm greeting. Children are of course most welcome, and we are happy to provide main lunches in childrens' portions.

Every day, our creative kitchen team ensure we cover a wide range of dietary requirements, including gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan, but if you have any specific allergies or any queries please, as we have suggested, ask on arrival or ring ahead on 01993 823117 and a member of our team will do their very best to help you.

One final thing, there is free Wi-Fi.
