Grown in peat free compost in a biodegradable pot made from waste coir and natural latex. Remove plant from pot or cut/tear away some of the coir if the plant is well rooted and hard to remove.

- Pop the discarded coir pot in the green bin, leave out for birds to use for nesting, use as mulch or add to compost heap
- Make sure the Artichoke has plenty of space to grow – avoid frost prone or waterlogged sites
- Water in dry spells – lack of water will affect size and number of buds
- During the first year it is advisable to remove any flower stalks to allow the plant to focus its energy on becoming established, harvesting buds in the second year
- In autumn, prune off the faded foliage and lay over the crown to protect the plant during winter- in very cold areas a layer of mulch or fleece is advisable
