Much admired for its heart shaped, velvety leaves, which are deeply and dramatically veined, Anthurium ‘Michelle’ has been nominated for the RHS Chelsea Plant of the Year 2026. Leaves emerge in shades of burgundy purple with reddish veins, maturing to a dark green velvety sheen with contrasting white veins. Terracotta pot not included, supplied in plastic nursery pot.

Positioning
- Indirect light (no direct sun or leaves will scorch) in north or east facing window
- Wait until potting mix is dry before watering
- Enjoys humidity but do not mist leaves

Insights
This hybrid cultivar has been developed by Dr. Jeff Block, commonly known as Doc Block, a renowned American breeder specialising in anthuriums. Offering colour, shape and texture to an indoor plant collection, this resilient anthurium has lower watering and humidity needs than other anthuriums. Named after doc Block’s wife, this cultivar was awarded ‘Best New Flowering Plant’ at the 2022 Tropical Plant International Expo (TPIE).
