notes

Broad-leaved thyme is an excellent culinary variety that also boasts some decorative value. Its shiny, green foliage grows in a compact manner, providing some attractive ground colour at the front of the border. During summer it produces small, pretty pink flowers which are attractive to bees.

Insights

Thyme is an old favourite for adding to stews and stuffing for a Sunday roast. Additionally, it is a helpful companion plant, as it is a great deterrent of cabbage root-fly or cabbage worm.
