In the night nursery of the Darling children, Wendy, John and Michael meet the magical Peter Pan, who teaches them to fly and takes them on adventures in Never-Never Land, where they meet the iconic pirate, Captain Hook. When author J.M. Barrie was six, his older brother died in a skating accident, which had a profound effect on his mother, who took solace in the fact that he would stay a boy and never grow up, believed to be the inspiration for Barrie writing ‘Peter Pan’.

J. M. Barrie (1860-1937) was a Scottish novelist and playwright, remembered for writing 'Peter Pan, or the Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up', which first appeared as a play in 1904, and eventually as a book in 1928, with the rights being gifted to Great Ormond Street Hospital.
