A dwarf variety of English lavender notable for its very dark purple flowers and narrow grey leaves, Lavender angustifolia 'Hidcote' is an excellent addition to the kitchen garden. Its leaves and flowers can be used to flavour biscuits, stews and soups, but it is also useful as a low hedge, or attractive border or container plant. It is a recipient of the RHS AGM (Award of Garden Merit), for all round excellence.
