notes

Useful for smaller gardens as you don’t need another tree for pollination, the dessert apple, Red Windsor, produces a heavy crop of dark red fruit, which bears a crisp texture and aromatic flavour. It is one of the easiest apple trees to grow, with good disease resistance, and is a recipient of RHS AGM (Award of Garden Merit), for all round excellence.

Insights

Best grown in a sheltered, sunny spot where the blossom can attract pollinators and the fruit can ripen in the sun. The flowers have some frost resistance at blossom time. Its parentage is Cox’s Orange Pippin x Duchess of Oldenburg.
