Anemone x hybrida Honorine Jobert is one of the most striking of autumn plants, especially for a partly shaded border. This hardy Japanese anemone produces masses of large round, pure single flowers, on tall, wiry stems over a long period, all the way from late summer well into autumn.

A.Honorine Jobert looks great at the back of a herbaceous border. It tolerates full sun but thrives in partial shade – the flowers shine in dappled or shady areas, so plant against a dark green backdrop, such as a yew hedge, to maximise the effect and add to your enjoyment. It is also suitable for growing in a large patio pot.

  • Deciduous perennial
  • Fully hardy
  • Flowering period: August - October
  • Low maintenance
  • Any moist, well-drained soil
  • Any aspect
  • Full sun or partial shade

  • Cut back old stems after flowering has finished and tidy up foliage in March.
  • Once established, cover with mulch to keep roots cool, and it will spread readily.
