notes

The Boysenberry is a wonderfully rich and aromatic hybrid fruit, combining the qualities of blackberry, raspberry, and loganberry. Its large, dusky purple berries are prized for their complex, tangy sweetness — ideal for jam-making, desserts, and summer picking straight from the cane. Images courtesy of James McIntyre & Sons.

Insights

First cultivated in California in the early 20th century, the Boysenberry is a cross between raspberry, blackberry, dewberry, and loganberry.
