notes

Chives (Allium schoenoprasum) are a must-have and easy to grow perennial herb. The slender, mid-green stems produce clusters of brilliant purple-white, button-like flowers which add a cheerful colour to a garden border. These flowers are also attractive to native pollinators.

Insights

Not only decorative, the flowers have a distinctive taste, making them great for sprinkling over summer salads. And of course the snipped young leaves are perfect paired with cheese, eggs or potatoes.
